Sign-up for September, 2008 Tee-Times

Tee times for the month of September will be available at 9 AM, Thursday, August 21 in the LaFortune Restaurant. The restaurant will be open at 6 AM for our convenience.

Please show your appreciation for their courtesy of providing a place for our meeting by planning to have them prepare your breakfast.

N O T I C E 

Many of our 159 members have the same last name. Therefore it is

necessary that an initial or name be provided on the “sign-up” sheets

In order that the Tournament Director will know which member has

registered to play during the times when tournaments are scheduled.

The same applies when we have “Closest to the Pin” contests and a

member is fortunate enough to enter his name on one of the hole cards.

The Youth Tournament Volunteers

Jim Brunoldi and Bill Winfrey, who both serve as a members of our Board of Directors, agreed to be the coordinators for the Youth Golf Tournaments held at LaFortune and South Lakes on July 1st & 2nd. These gentlemen worked very diligently to obtain the needed number of volunteers from within our membership to assist the 11yrs and under boys and girls with the determination of their scores for the nine hole matches they played. Some of the members wives were gracious enough to assist with the endeavor, and their help was very welcome. Everyone appreciates the effort and time given by these men and women to help these children learn to play the game of golf

Equitable Stroke Control

Equitable Stroke Control (ESC) is the downward adjustment of individual hole scores for

handicap purposes in order to make handicaps more representative of a player’s potential

scoring ability. ESC sets a maximum number that a player can post on any hole

depending on the player’s course handicap. ESC is used only when a player’s actual or

most likely score exceeds his maximum number based on the following at table:

            10 through 19                                                                    7

            30 through 39                                                                   

Notice Concerning Membership Handicaps

The Handicap Report is compiled and prepared by the personnel at LaFortune based upon membership information that is provided, and the scorecards which are completed by our members.

Jim Brunoldi coordinates with the personal at LaFortune as to the completeness of the membership roster which is used to prepare the report. Any questions relating to the Handicap Report should be directed to Jim at telephone 494-4954, or his e-mail at  jbrunoldi@yahoo.com

  New Web Page 
Our new web address is: www.LafortuneParkGolf.com . This opens the LaFortune   
 Park G.C. web page which lists all of the information about the course. The link   for LSLMSGA is labeled “Senior Golf”, and it can be opened from that tab. When our page   opens there will be the main topics where our information is stored.

The tab labeled as “Members Only” is a secured site within our page, and a member must have his e-mail address and password to open it. The information contained within that site will be primarily our membership roster containing such sensitive information as addresses and telephone numbers. Other information of a sensitive nature, as it may become available, will also be within that secured site. Any member who is not registered to enter the secured site may become eligible by calling the Lafortune Pro Shop at 496-6200.

The web page is set up to provide all of our Association information, both current and historically as well as provide current information. The tabs which contain our information are as follows:
